Dangerous Web Browser Extensions

“Just the list for people in a hurry…”

Note: This is not a substitute for the full article. It's a just a summary about auto deleting the data Google collects and saves about all of us.

Google collects a huge amount of data on everyone who uses the web

They do this even on non-Google sites via tracking software most sites use

Data collected includes sites visited, links clicked, and videos watched

Google can also track physical locations visited via smartphone tracking

Google is much more than just a search engine

In addition to running hundreds of sites, they own a web browser and phone operating system

They also own things like the Nest thermostat and the Waze navigation app

All of these things collect and send data to Google

They collect the data because it's valuable to the advertisers Google sells it to

Until recently, Google kept data forever

But now they're giving us more control over what they collect and how long they keep it

We can't remove everything, but ask for things to be automatically deleted after 3 months
